Keith,
Thanks for sharing the books and links. I teach eighth grade and I'm looking for a few Civil War picture books to use with my classes. I don't have easy access to an elementary school library, so I appreciate the tips. Because of budget constraints I can't afford a class set of books for each unit, so I use an ELMO visual presenter to project the pages of the book on the screen. My students love this throwback to elementary school. It gets their attention and serves a springboard to a lecture or hand-on activity.

I've received a few requests from higher grade teachers requesting that, so I've started pulling together titles as well as additional resources.
