Calling all 2011 NCSS annual conference-goers: Leon and Amy Kass, editors ofWSPWH, will be leading a seminar on the use of imaginative literature for civic education.
The seminar, “Making Citizens Through Literature: A New Approach to Civic Education,” will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on December 3, 2011from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Amy and Leon Kass will introduce NCSS attendees to their free online curriculum, “The Meaning of America,” with a discussion of Jack London’s short story, “To Build a Fire.” Participants will receive a free copy of WSPWH.
